Lullabyes
When I’m in charge of Gus I usually end up putting him in an Ergo carrier to fall asleep. He hates the first few minutes of it, but I can always seem to calm him down and get him to fall asleep by humming or singing different songs (unless he’s in beast mode, flailing his arms and kicking his legs with no consolation).
So far, this is the short list of songs Gus can fall asleep to:
Twinkle, Twinkle (the easiest and fastest way to calm him down)
Hey, Jude
Yellow Submarine (the two verses I can remember…the story is a lot shorter than the original)
Ode to Joy
I am hoping to brainwash him into appreciating “the classics” much earlier than I did. You know, like “Tubthumping” by Chumbawumba. Here’s the songs I hope to master a simplified, hummed-down version of sometime soon:
American Pie
Like a Rolling Stone
Livin’ on a Prayer
Small Town Girl
If I’m able to implant Bon Jovi into his subconscious to the point of him singing it alone while he’s playing with his toys in a few years, I think I’ll have done my parental duty.
